Hi, I’m Charise!

I am the founder of Sassy | Chic | Geek. I created this world because I was tired of being told to shrink when I was born to stand out.

My Background aka “The Receipts”

I am a first-generation college graduate who grew up in a small city in Upstate NY. I went to college in New York City. I moved around a lot in my 20s and early 30s because I didn’t know what I didn’t know about this life thing. I worked in Corporate America at a variety of Fortune 500 and mid-size companies. I eventually transitioned into working in the public sector, working for both nonprofits and government. I spent the past 15 or so years working in youth and economic development. I like to say that I am a retired serial mover and certified job hopper.

The Tea On Why I Created Sassy | Chic | Geek

Sassy | Chic | Geek is where storytelling meets rebellion. I believe that we all deserve to live as full beings and that we need to challenge norms of how we live, work and play. My life philosophy is pretty simple:

  • I have a voice and when I speak, I will be heard (sassy).

  • I live my life and express myself by my own rules (chic).

  • My brainpower is my ultimate power (geek).

I use storytelling through my Sassnistas that live in Sasstopia to share the many ways that we dare to be sassy, live chic, think geek. Sassy | Chic | Geek is a lifestyle. I like to have poppin’ conversations about hot topics and things that make us feel a little uncomfortable. Because I believe that showing up to an ever-evolving world as our full selves requires us to constantly evolve, challenge our assumptions and be lifelong learners.
